Tagua Nut

The Tagua nut come from the fruits of the Ivory palm in South America. One fruit usually contains 5-6 nuts.

The nuts are hollow inside and can vary from almost no hole at all, to a hole of 1x1 cm.

Due to the hardness and color of the nut, it is often used to carve figures, wood turning and knife making.

The color of the nut becomes very similar to ivory when it is sliced and polished.

The nuts are about 5-6 cm long and oval or egg-shaped.
