The iron is ground with FINGERNAIL grinding, which makes it particularly suitable for turning bowls - both on the outside and in the critical interior area where you otherwise run the risk of snagging with ordinary turning pipes.

The special 55 degree fingernail grinding ensures that the chamfer is always in place when working on the bottom of the bowl. The slightly backwards chamfer makes it easy to reach hard-to-reach areas when wood is turned lengthwise.

The tip is simply replaced if necessary.
