Food Safe Finish - Chestnut

Food Safe Finish is a clear, food-grade mineral oil. We use a thin oil quality to allow it to penetrate bare wood, which then protects it from water splashes, etc., without staining or affecting the food in any way.

It dries to a fairly matte finish; however, it is ideal for wet sanding, and when used with a very fine abrasive, it can provide an exceptionally smooth surface with its own gentle glow.

Apply it directly to bare wood with a clean cloth or brush, up to three coats are recommended. If the oil sits on the surface and does not absorb, it means the wood has absorbed as much as it can and no further coats are needed. Any excess can be removed with a clean cloth as needed.

Depending on how the item is used, it may be necessary to reapply the finish, especially if it is regularly washed.
