Knife Handle - Smoked Oak

Danish Smoked Oak is a hard wood, which can make it difficult to work with, but in return you get a good and durable shaft.
The smoking is made by soaking the hard wood with ammonia for a long period of time. This will color the wood all way through and make the wood brown to black.
The wood has a brown/black color and may have some darker streaks.

Oak is also commonly used for furniture.
