Knife Handle - Thuja

Knife Handle, approx. 24x38x120 mm. 

Thuja grows in mountains, primarily in Morocco but also in Malta and in southern Spain. It is in the root pieces of the tree that you find the beautiful colors and patterns. The rest of the tree is generally brown and not used commercially.

The color is brown with small "eyes" in dark brown or black. Can be a bit hard to work with but gives a good finish. The wood gives a very special smell when you are grinding it.

Used for wood turning, handicrafts, etc.
