Mammoth Molar - Stabilized Handle

Mammoth Molar - Stabilized Handle
Mammut molar that is stabilized by Raffir.

Mammoth molars date from the last Ice Age - 10,000-40,000 years ago.
The tooth is stabilized with resin and thereby makes the fossils usable for e.g. knife manufacturing, jewelry etc.

Mammoth molars are very hard to machine and can be machined with diamond tools. Alternatively, you can use ordinary grinding tools at low speed.
However, be aware that it can be a bit porous - so be careful when filing and sanding over edges or when drilling.
The material must not get too hot when you grind it. This can cause the tooth to crack or split.

The block measures approx. 23x40x120 mm

NOTE: There is only one of this kind, so you will be sent the one in the picture.
