Soapstone is a soft and easily workable natural material, ideal for sculpting and other creative projects. The stones come in assorted natural shades, ranging from light gray and green to darker tones.

Shaping and Finishing

Soapstone can be shaped using common hand tools such as rasps, files, saws, and knives. After rough shaping, the surface can be smoothed with sandpaper of different grits to achieve a polished finish. To enhance the stone’s natural color and texture, it is recommended to treat the finished piece with either soapstone wax or soapstone oil. This protects the stone and gives it a beautiful, polished appearance.

As soapstone is a natural material, variations in both color and texture will occur. Each stone is unique in its appearance.

Sizes and Delivery

The stones are available in various sizes and weights, typically ranging from approximately 1.0 kg to 3.0 kg. They are sold by weight, with 1 kg roughly equivalent to the size of a large clenched fist.

Note: For orders under 3 kg, the stones may be of the same color, as our supply varies and we cannot guarantee a wide range of colors for smaller orders.
